About Marc Landes

Marc Landes currently resides in Oak Park, IL, where he is an active free-lance musician and educator. He is an adjunct professor of music at Triton College and Prairie State College. Marc received his Bachelor of Arts, as well as, Master of Music degrees (Jazz Performance) from Western Michigan University; and has work completed on his Doctorate of Musical Arts in jazz performance from the University of Miami, Florida. Marc has also completed course-work in audio recording techniques and computer-assisted music production from Prairie State College and Berklee Music.

Professionally Marc has worked  with: The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Bobby Vinton, Ben Vereen, The Chicago Jazz Orchestra, Palm Beach Pops Orchestra, The Hollywood Hills Orchestra, Angel Melendez' 911 Mambo Orchestra, The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, The Guy Lombardo Orchestra, The Bill Porter Orchestra, The Swing Shift Orchestra and Latin Inspiracion.

Marc has also performed in many professional shows including: Spamalot, The Three Musketeers, Once Upon a Mattress, West Side Story, Man of La Mancha, Children of Eden, Carousel, Evita, My Favorite Year, The Rat Pack Show, Come Fly With Me, Cinderella, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

While in college Marc has performed with such jazz greats as: Bobby Shew, Lou Marini, The New York Voices, Don Shelton, Bonnie Herman, Gene Puerling, Darmon Meader, Conrad Herwig, Tom Harrell, Bob Mintzer, Walt Weiskopf, Bob Berg, Billy Hart, John Fedchok, John Clayton, and Kenny Werner.

Marc's main teachers include: Gerald Knipfel, Martin Hodel, Art Davis, Dr. Stephen Jones, Scott Thornburg, Dr. Scott Cowan, Dr. Rick Holland, and Greg Gisbert.
